In some other forums there's a function called "Pruning"

What this does, is when you set it up, the board itself will start deleting members.

The factors is this...

Registration Date, Active Days, and Number of Posts.

If this would exist, 350+ members on our forum would get deleted because of 0 posts.

If you want to check up on the exact number of people who would get pruned because of 0 posts, I'll give a quick tutorial on how to check it.

On the top right of the forum, we got a spot that runs across as...

PMs, New Msgs, "Members" , Forum Rules, Search, RSS
I quoted Members cause thats where you have to click.

Now at the bottom of that... make sure you got these settings.

"All Groups"
"Messages"
"70 per page"

If you do this, starting from page 5, to the last page (10) has all 0 posts.

Since there is at least 5 pages of 0's, and if we display 70 per page, thats 350 members.

So half of our forum community has 0 posts.

i like the idea to remove any unnecessary users. hmm just a thought though, what if someone who has posted stops coming to the forums for say 3 months? shouldn't his account be deactivated? which leads to another question, how long does a user have to make a post in the forums?

still i like the idea.

There is settings for this.

And I don't think this board has it at all.

I know a board that I was on, is if you had a avg posting count of less then 1, and you were on for at least 5 days drom registration.

It's usually put in-place for non-posters. So If someone doesn't make so many posts a week they can get de-activated, and if no more visits and stuff for such a long time, they get deleted.

Also, the board will send you reminders if your about to be pruned.

anyway i understand the basic concept and support it. maybe it can cause more people to be in the forums because they are as important as the game too happy
